Lebanon is a small rural community in eastern Connecticut that has about 7287 residents as of 2009. It is one of the largest towns by land area at 55 square miles. It is one of the few towns in the state that is still dominated by agriculture. It is known for it's open space and the residents have been dedicated to preserving it's rural character. It has large amounts of land that are permanently preserved through deed restrictions and outright ownership by the state.
It has 3 lake areas that have large seasonal populations. Lake Williams and Red Cedar Lake have homes that are on isolated islands. They are our blue gems. It has roads like Chappell Road that can outshine areas of Vermont.
